Las Colinas, which is Spanish for “the hills,” is a planned community that arguably serves as the heart of the city. Las Colinas was founded by millionaire Ben H. Las Colinas also has almost a hundred restaurants, a motion picture production facility and a topnotch equestrian center featuring two polo fields. Schools here are administered by the Irving and Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School Districts.
